All employees who regularly work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to enroll in identity theft and fraud protection.
Aura Identity Theft and Fraud Protection from MetLife helps you monitor and protect your personal information and recover your identity if stolen.
Services include:
- Alerts about detected threats to your identity, social security number, online accounts and more.
- Credit, bank, social media and personal property monitoring.
- Tools that help protect your passwords, devices and Wi-Fi connections.
- $5 million insurance coverage for each enrolled adult.
Cost for coverage
You pay 100% of the cost for coverage through payroll deductions. The amount you pay depends on the coverage you choose: Individual or Family.

How to enroll
You can enroll in coverage anytime during the year on SmartSource . If you’re enrolling outside of the new hire enrollment or open enrollment period, select Report Life Event and choose Add Identity Theft and Fraud Protection from the list.
After you enroll, activate your account to:
- View alerts and set your contact preferences.
- Add members to your plan (if you enrolled in Family coverage).
- Use the Aura mobile app (App Store | Google Play )
If you leave Johns Hopkins Health System, you can continue coverage directly with Aura.
