Medical plan coverage, free counseling services and programs to promote healthy lifestyles.
All employees are eligible for free counseling services through the Johns Hopkins Employee Assistance Program (JHEAP) and well-being programs through the Office of Well-Being.
If you’re enrolled in a Johns Hopkins medical plan, your plan includes coverage for mental health care and substance abuse.
Free counseling services
Johns Hopkins Employee Assistance Program
You and your family members each get six free counseling sessions per year for short-term counseling needs.

On-site counseling
Available to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital employees only
Onsite counselor Roxana Maza, LMHC, is available to support you with work-life balance, caregiver strain, stress and anxiety, compassion fatigue, resilience and much more.
Sessions are available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week virtually or in person at All Children’s Hospital, OCC-Room 1421.

Office of Clinician and Faculty Care (OCFC)
The OCFC is staffed by John Hopkins clinicians who know the demands of our work and provide safe, judgment-free care that protects privacy. Their services are confidential with no link to employment records.
You’re eligible for up to six free visits with a licensed mental health provider if you’re a:
- Nurse
- Advanced Practice Provider
- Physician
- School of Medicine faculty (clinical or research)
If you need on-going care after your six free visits, you can continue with an OCFC provider and bill your medical insurance.

Healthy at Hopkins employee well-being program
Healthy at Hopkins, an employee health and well-being program, offers resources and programs that cover the spectrum of healthy lifestyle strategies, such as sleep, meditation and relaxation.
Healthy at Hopkins offers a variety of programs and resources to help you:
- Reduce stress and lower blood pressure.
- Develop healthy habits to improve sleep and increase energy.
- Practice self-care through meditation and mindfulness.
- Quit smoking.

UpLift virtual mental health care
If you’re enrolled in an Employer Health Programs (EHP) medical plan, you can schedule virtual appointments with in-network therapists and psychiatrists through UpLift. Appointments are available as early as the next day and no further out than two weeks.
