Understanding your medical plan options
Choosing the right plan
All our medical plans include prescription drug coverage and cover 100% of in-network preventive care, such as annual checkups, screenings, exams and vaccinations.
Here are some key highlights to consider when choosing a plan:
- El Johns Hopkins EPO Plan offers only in-network coverage and has lower paycheck deductions.
- El Johns Hopkins PPO Plan offers in- and out-of-network coverage and has higher paycheck deductions. Unlike the EPO plan, the amount of the deductible is based on your salary.
- El Johns Hopkins DPC Plan is available only to employees who live or work in Maryland. This plan is similar to the PPO plan with a few added benefits, such as lower copays for primary and behavioral health care, a $240 pre-funded lifestyle account and no-cost primary care services at the practice’s location on the Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center campus. Learn more about Direct Primary Care .
- El Kaiser HMO Plan is available only to Suburban Hospital employees. This plan offers only in-network coverage through Kaiser Permanente, and you must select a primary care physician (PCP) to coordinate care. The paycheck deductions are similar to the PPO and DPC plans.

Lo que paga el plan cuando recibes atención médica
This page reflects in-network coverage only. For more coverage details, view plan overviews on the EHP website or view the Summary Plan Description for each plan.
El deducible es la cantidad que usted paga antes de que el plan comience a pagar. El out-of-pocket maximum is the most you’ll pay for covered expenses each plan year. These reset annually on Jan. 1.
